Don’t count out Rusney Castillo just yet.

In his first at-bat of spring training, the Red Sox outfielder blasted a three-run home run against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday. Castillo entered the game in the seventh inning, replacing. Mookie Betts in center field. His homer gave the Sox a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The 27-year-old from Cuba signed a seven-year, $72.5 million contract with the Red Sox last summer. He batted .333 in 36 big league at-bats late in the 2014 season, but missed the start of 2015 Grapefruit League play due to an oblique injury.

Manager John Farrell has not yet committed to a lineup for April 6 in Philadelphia, but the projected Red Sox opening day lineup features Hanley Ramirez in left, Betts in center, and Shane Victorino in right.
