The 13-year-old Davis threw a two-hit shutout in the opening round of the Little League World Series, becoming the first female to ever do so. Davis threw a fastball that topped 70 miles per hour, prompting prominent major leaguers to weigh in.

Davis’s next performance wasn’t quite as spectacular, but she had a hit in her team’s 7-6 win over Pearland, Texas Sunday night. She became the 6th girl in history to get a hit in the series. She’s the first female to play in the event since 2004.
