Aceves pitched for the Red Sox from 2011 to 2013, posting a 3.94 ERA in 135 games. The 31-year-old Aceves was currently pitching for the Yankees Triple-A affiliate Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Despite pitching well for the Red Sox, Aceves had notable run-ins with manager Bobby Valentine and then John Farrell.
