Koji Uehara may avoid disabled list

Red Sox closer Koji Uehara had a positive bullpen session Sunday, prompting Sox manager John Farrell to tell reporters “he felt better than actually expected”, according to MassLive.com.
He was really able to generate good arm speed,” Farrell said. “He’s moving past some of the concerns, mentally, that he had.”
Uehara felt shoulder stiffness while warming up for Friday night’s game vs. the Yankees. The 39-year-old will fly back to Boston Monday to be examined. If all goes well he could rejoin the team Tuesday in Chicago. Edward Mujica will close for the Red Sox in Uehara’s absence.
