Drew not expected at ring ceremony
Stephen Drew played in 124 games for the World Series champion Boston Red Sox last season, but the shortstop is not expected to join his former teammates as they accept their rings Friday at Fenway Park, the Globe’s Nick Cafardo reports.
Cafardo cites Drew’s agent Scott Boras and coach Alex Ochoa as saying they do not expect Drew to make the trip. Ochoa is training Drew and fellow free-agent Kendrys Morales as each player looks to sign on with another team. More from Cafardo:

Drew turned down a $14.1 million qualifying offer from the Sox in the offseason. The Red Sox host the Milwaukee Brewers Friday in the 2014 Fenway Park opener at 2:05 p.m.
