Red Sox hit the front pages

Following their World Series win against the St. Louis Cardinals last night, the Red Sox are splashed across newspapers and news sites across the country. Take a look at the coverage.

The Boston Herald’s front page, second edition, captures an emotional embrace between Koji Uehara and David Ross after the Sox clinched the Series .

WCVB

Early this morning, WCVB led their online coverage of the win with reaction from Red Sox Nation. Pictured here, fans flocked to the Boston Maraton finish line after the Sox locked up the Series.

The Sox’ Game 6 win had local news station WBZ seeing red (in a good way) on their homepage.

Fox 25 gave the Red Sox the graphic treatment on their homepage this morning.

Not to be outdone, the Red Sox also dominated the top of WHDH’s website with lots of articles, videos, and more.

New Hampshire Union Leader

Fenway Park (and Jonny Gomes) received front-page treatment by the New Hampshire Union Leader. Last night’s World Series win was the first Red Sox victory at Fenway since 1918.

The Sox win made the front page of The New York Times (though, in Yankee territory, it’s barely above the fold).

USA Today

The Red Sox win was prominently displayed on the front of USA Today in the paper’s reliably colorful format.

Missouri coverage

Meanwhile, Cardinals fans in Missouri were greeted with these less-than-delightful headlines on St. Louis’ World Series loss.
