Red Sox claim OF Parraz
The Red Sox have claimed outfielder Jordan Parraz off waivers from the Royals and added him to the 40-man roster
The 26-year-old spent last season with the Royals’ Triple A affiliate in Omaha, where he batted .266 with 11 home runs and 61 RBIs in 123 games, 114 of which he played in right field. He also had 27 doubles.
Parraz, a .289 career hitter in the minor leagues, was a third-round pick of the Astros in the 2004 draft. He spent five years in the Houston organization and the past two in the Royals’ system.
With his acquisition, there are no open spots on the Red Sox’ 40-man roster.
