Reddick recalled
The Red Sox recalled outfielder Josh Reddick from Triple A Pawtucket today. Reddick will be active for tonight’s game, though he is not expected to arrive until sometime after the first pitch.
Reddick, 22, has had two previous stints with the Sox this season, batting .188 with a home run and two RBIs in nine games.
He was optioned to Pawtucket on August 15 and has appeared in 18 games since then, batting .127 with six RBIs in 71 at-bats
Rated the No. 5 prospect in the Red Sox organization by Baseball America entering 2009, he hit .277 with 13 home runs and 29 RBIs in 63 games for Double A Portland earlier this season.
Reddick’s arrival will give the Red Sox seven outfielders on their active roster.
