Weather update
As of 3:45 p.m., it was raining at Fenway Park and the tarp was on the field, threatening the series finale of the Red Sox’ series finale with the Florida Marlins tonight.
There is a 60 percent chance of showers in the Fenway area between the hours of 7 and 10 p.m., according to the hour-by-hour forecast on weather.com. The showers are expected to vary in intensity throughout the evening.
Thunderstorms are expected around 8 p.m. After 10 p.m., the chance of precipitation increases to 70 percent. Temperatures are expected to be in the low-60s.
The Fenway Park gates will open at the regularly scheduled time of 5:10 p.m. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
