Drew, Youkilis questionable

The Red Sox’ lineup may be short two of its regulars during tonight’s series finale at Cleveland.

During his weekly appearance on WEEI’s “The Dale and Holley Show,” manager Terry Francona said that first baseman Kevin Youkilis and right fielder J.D. Drew were questionable to play tonight. If Youkilis doesn’t start, Jeff Bailey would take over at first base, while Jonathan Van Every would get the nod in right field in place of Drew.

Youkilis, who was hit in the back with a pitch by Cleveland starter Anthony Reyes last night, is experiencing some soreness, according to Francona. Youkilis remained in the game after getting hit, delivering a two-run double in the second inning.

Drew is again feeling tightness in his left quadriceps, according to Francona. Drew did not start Monday because of the soreness — he eventually pinch hit in the ninth inning — and returned to the starting lineup last night.
