No game tonight
Philadelphia’s hopes of celebrating its first World Series title since 1980 will have to wait at least another day.
Game 5 of the World Series, which was postponed in the sixth inning Monday night because of rain in Philadelphia, will not be resumed tonight, a major league source told the Globe’s Nick Cafardo.
The continued inclement weather in Philadelphia — it was 44 degrees and raining in the area as of 1 p.m. — led to further postponement. The Phillies and Rays are tied, 2-2, in the sixth. Philadelphia leads the series, 3-1.
