He’s kind of a big deal in Boston, but Clay Buchholz is making headlines across the country today following his no-hitter against the Orioles Saturday night. Here’s a sampling:

  • Columnist Alan Greenwood of the Nashua Telegraph says Buchholz is now a Red Sox hero.
  • In Baltimore, the focus was on the reeling O’s being no-hit by a rookie.
  • MLB.com has the Orioles being impressed by his performance.
  • The Hartford Courant says the Red Sox got much, much more than they expected from the kid’s second career start.
  • ESPN’s Rob Neyer points out that Buchholz’s performance overshadowed the debut of another pitcher Saturday, Yankees right-hander Ian Kennedy.
