Twenty for Damon
Johnny Damon is having quite the day against his former team. In the fourth, he took Jon Lester deep – or some form thereof – wrapping his 20th home around the Pesky Pole for a 7-5 Yankees lead. In Game 1, Damon was a double short of hitting for the cycle. In Game 2, he’s 3 for 3 with three runs batted in.
The 20 homers tie a career high for Damon, who also hit 20 in 2004 with the Red Sox.
You can imagine the crowd reaction as Damon rounded the bases.
Julian Tavarez is warming in the bullpen as Lester nears 100 pitches already.
