A new favorite
Methinks Fenway just found a new favorite, which threatens to put Trot Nixon third on the depth chart. Right fielder Eric Hinske has doubled twice today, stole a home run from Jorge Posada, and came to the plate in the sixth inning with a loud ovation from the fans. He then proceeded to drill Wang’s pitch into the Red Sox bullpen for…what else…a ground rule double. He’s 3 for 3 now on the day.
His three doubles match a career high. Last Sept. 29 he also hit three here at Fenway while a member of the Blue Jays.
