Pitching coach Dave Wallace was present in the Red Sox dugout during batting practice this afternoon, and said he is progressing well from his June 1 hip replacement surgery. Wallace was using a single crutch to get around.
Francona has said in recent weeks that there is an outside chance that Wallace, who suffered a serious right hip infection this past offseason, could resume his duties at some point this year.
