Damon goes deep
It’s a sun-drenched evening here in the Fens, with a game-time temperature of 63 degrees and winds out of the northwest at 16 miles per hour. Tim Wakefield’s first pitch to Johnny Damon was a called strike on the outside corner.
Damon then proceeded to jack a deep home run to right field on a 1-2 pitch. It was Damon’s first leadoff home run of the season and the 17th of his career.
The fans in the right field stands threw the ball back on the field.
