Boston Red Sox

Rout is on

Over the last two innings, the Red Sox have turned what was a semi-tight 4-1 game – and likely save opportunity for Jonathan Papelbon – into a 9-1 laugher. Boston scored three times in the seventh, and twice more in the eighth, as fans have started to file out in decently sized droves, the game well in hand for the Red Sox.

  • Keith Foulke will close out the contest. Curt Schilling was back on track in a big way tonight, allowing just five hits and one run over seven innings of work. Schilling struck out six and walked none. He threw 99 pitches, 72 for strikes.
