Some of the writers in the press box were having some fun with Alex Rodriguez’s two-run bomb in the ninth-inning. Particularly after Yankees manager Joe Torre spent time before the game defending how his third basemen reacts to clutch situations.

“There’s a big home run,” one said sarcastically.

The Yankees were down 9-1 at the time.

Then again, it did spark a rally that saw four runs cross the plate in the ninth, so take that to mean what it might.
