No Mirabelli
Doug Mirabelli has been removed from tonight’s starting lineup. Jason Varitek will start in his place and bat sixth.
Red Sox manager Terry Francona had penciled Mirabelli into tonight’s lineup with the hope he might be able to make to Boston before game time, after traveling all day from the California. That apparently did not work out as well as planned.
