Boston Red Sox

Sputtering start

Just an all-around ugly start for Clement, who lasted just 3 1/3 innings, giving up eight earned runs on seven hits, three of them home runs. Juan Uribe’s fourth-inning two-run blast was the final straw.

If it’s the fourth inning, and Chad Bradford is your guy on the mound, it’s safe to say things aren’t going well. And if this isn’t the perfect spot for Jeremi Gonzalez, then why exactly is he on the roster in the first place?

Three homers in a game is a new postseason record for the White Sox, by the way. I might remind you that we’re in the fifth here.
