Here are just some of the outrageous, surprising, cute, and funny costumes that graced the Boston Marathon course Monday.

Half tights. Singlet. Compressive sleeves. Running hats and gloves. What a runner wears to the Boston Marathon, spring weather dependent, helps an athlete stay comfortable over 26.2 miles.

Some runners, however, ditch comfort for comedy.

Here are photos and videos of some of the outrageous, surprising, cute, and funny costumes that graced the Boston Marathon course Monday.

One couple dressed as a bride and groom, crossing the finish line together.

While not dressed up, these runners had a very specific request broadcasted on their shirts: beers.

One athlete also had an unconventional run when he completed the course barefoot.

Even spectators got in on the fun.
