On April 20, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners will take to the streets to participate in the 124th Boston Marathon. The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team runs and raises funds with thousands of special people in mind. From Hopkinton to Boston, we carry thoughts of those people every step of the way.
Our goal is to raise funds to defeat cancer in the name of Millburn’s friend Mike “Trapper” Buckley. Trapper fought to live every day like it was his last. He beat the doctors’ odds by over 4 years and never complained about this dreaded disease. I will humbly wear Trapper’s name on my race shirt and every step that is taken will be in the spirit of our good friend. Trapper touched all of our lives in such a positive way and we can help eliminate cancer in his name……what a legacy that would be!
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today’s most promising basic cancer research.
Running 26.2 miles is nothing compared to what Mike went through. Supporting the Barr Investigators and their critical scientific strides will make all my training more than worthwhile.
My personal goal is to raise $12,000 towards our team goal of $6 million! Sponsoring me is easy and only takes a few minutes. Thank you for your support! Together, we’re headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
