Boston Marathon winner Des Linden can’t catch a ride in the rain
Linden's 2018 marathon win has come back to haunt her.
In 2018, Des Linden became the first American woman to win the Boston Marathon in 33 years. And she did it in the rain.
Somehow, the impressive feat came with consequences.
On Friday, Linden tweeted that she can’t get a ride from anyone when she’s running in the rain. Instead, she receives signs of approval from her neighbors as they drive past her.
“It’s official, everyone in our neighborhood knows about my Boston Marathon race in the rain,” Linden tweeted. “Now when I’m suffering on a run during a downpour I get a bunch of thumbs up and waves — not a single person will offer me a ride home anymore.”

Bostonians can be let off the hook for this one as Linden resides in Charlevoix, Mich.
So, residents of Charlevoix, step up and offer Linden a ride home the next time you see her out on a rainy run.
