Richard Houston is running Boston with Team IMPACT Melanoma
In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston on April 15, 2019.
Name: Richard Houston
Age: 62
From: Harwich, Massachusetts
Bib #: 28095
I’m running this year’s Boston Marathon with Team IMPACT Melanoma because this disease has affected me and several members of my extended family. If I make it through this year’s race, it will mark the 31st official finish in this historic race (24th in a row). Please help me and this worthy cause by donating today.
First photo shows me in a Holy Cross uniform in Newton Hills with my mother Jean cheering me on! She died of cancer in 2004. Other photo shows me at the start in Hopkinton the year that I broke my arm and had to run with a cast.
