Yes, that’s snow on the ground near the Boston Marathon starting line

Runners will have to contend with rain, wind, and cold during Monday’s race from Hopkinton to Boston.

Boston Marathon runners arriving in Hopkinton early Monday morning were greeted by more than just the expected signage and tents, and even the anticipated cold and rain.

Snow was on the grass in Hopkinton.

The 2018 race is already expected to be the coldest in years, and meteorologist David Epstein says runners will have to contend with rain and wind for the entire day.
