Shalane Flanagan is on the cover of ‘Runner’s World’

Ahead of the upcoming Boston Marathon, Marblehead native Shalane Flanagan was featured on the cover of the April issue of Runner’s World.

The magazine asks: Is her best race yet to come?

Flanagan — who is coming off her first major marathon victory with a win in New York last November — headlines the elite field of 2018 Boston Marathon runners after contemplating retirement at the end of 2017. The 36-year-old has missed the past two runnings of the Boston Marathon due to injury and the 2016 Summer Games. She does, however, hold the fastest Boston time by an American woman for her performance in 2014.
