Despite its many challenging miles, the Boston Marathon’s most infamously difficult section is Newton’s Heartbreak Hill.

And one runner —  Arizona resident Daradee Murray, according to her bib number — took a unique approach to conquering the formidable mile-20 stretch.

“I’m drinking a beer and I’m limping,” Murray told WBZ-TV’s Breana Pitts as she walked Heartbreak Hill during Monday’s race.

“It’s not perfect, but I’m getting there,” she said.

Generally, nutrition experts recommend water as the preferred mode of hydration — or to at least wait until after the race.
