Runners got a send off at Public Garden from the man in the cowboy hat

Carlos Arredondo, who rushed to help people injured during the2013 Boston Marathon bombings, greeted runners boarding buses to the starting line Marathon Monday with a big thumbs up and a “Boston Strong” banner.

Arredondo, known as “the man in the cowboy hat,” delivered a blessing for runners on Sunday at Old South Church.
