After going retro last year, the 2017 Boston Marathon jacket is championing the event’s hallmark color: Blue.

The recently released Adidas zip-up is waterproof and windproof, and features Boston Athletic Association graphics on the left chest and back, along with a “B.A.A. 26.2” embroidery on the back neck. The logos also glow in the dark.

For men and women, the jacket has differently colored reflective shoulder panels.

“For men, tech blue metallic are paired with blue to create a look and feel of the steel each runner will become through the process,” Caitlin Albaugh, an Adidas spokeswoman, told Boston.com in an email. “For women, we pair the blue with tech rust which is a symbol of the iron spirit that is at her core.”

It’s the first time since 2013 that the solid blue “Celebration” jacket, which Adidas has produced since 1991, has featured the BAA’s primary color.

For the price of $110, both the men’s and women’s styles can be purchased on the Adidas website.

According to Adidas, the jacket will be supplied to nearly 10,000 BAA volunteers and more than 3,500 race officials, media, and medical personnel.

According to Jack Fleming, the BAA’s marketing and communications director, the jacket “is the most anticipated reveal in our sport each year.”

“The jacket has been created to reward not only the accomplishment but also the hard work necessary to run Boston,” Fleming said in a statement. “If our finishers’ medallion is worn for the hours or perhaps even the day following the historic race each year, then the Celebration Jacket is proudly worn to signify the fact that one has crested the sport in a pinnacle and deeply personal achievement.”
