There’s only one Mr. Boston running this year’s Boston Marathon.

On Thursday, Oliver Boston arrived in Boston. It’s the 38-year-old Californian’s first ever visit.

“I’ve been meaning to come,’’ Boston told Boston.com.

By day, Boston works as a software training coordinator. But he’s also a part-time DJ who says he has opened for Cypress Hill, Common, and Fort Minor.

Mr. Boston arrives in Boston.

He first tried to qualify for Boston in 2013.

“A lot of my friends thought I was running the 2013,’’ Boston said. “They were texting me, wanted to make sure I was okay.’’

Boston said he wanted to run last year to help support the event in light of the tragic events of 2013.

“I missed qualifying by like 20 seconds,’’ he said, adding that he has run nine other marathons.

You can follow Boston’s progress on Monday using the BAA’s mobile app. You can just search by last name. There’s only one Mr. Boston.

On Friday, Boston took his first trip to Fenway Park, wearing a San Francisco Giants jersey.

Boston told Boston.com that as of Friday afternoon, he had been called “Mr. Boston’’ four times. (Only once by this reporter.)
