Boston Marathon 2013: Kisses in Wellesley

  • Wellesley’s downtown is the Boston Marathon’s halfway point — a significant psychological mark for runners. But before they get there they pass one of the highlights of the course, the so-called “Scream Tunnel,’’ a wall of sound — and free kisses — kept up all race long by the students and faculty at Wellesley College.

  • Priscilla Yu, a student from Seattle, wrote: “Romans 13:8 God calls us to love one another… so… KISS ME.” She attends a church in Chinatown and has church brothers running. “I thought that would be a cool way to plug Christianity,” said Yu.

  • More than 200 signs were requested through a Facebook page for Wellesley College.
