Friday’s game between Boston Legacy FC and the San Diego Wave will be the first of 13 Legacy games this season broadcast on NBC10 and NBC Sports Boston.
The team on Thursday announced a multiyear partnership that includes broadcast rights to eight home and five road games during the 2026 NWSL season. The deal extends through 2027, though the number of matches NBC10 and NBC Sports Boston will carry next season is to be announced.
“We’re thrilled to partner with NBC10 Boston and NBC Sports Boston, and are confident they will do an outstanding job telling our athletes’ stories while building excitement around Boston Legacy FC,” Legacy president Jennifer van Dijk said in a statement. “Airing our matches across the region allows us to tap into their strong platform, expand our reach, connect with fans, and showcase our talented professional athletes.”
In addition to live game coverage, the partnership also extends to multiplatform, behind-the-scenes content.
“It’s a privilege to partner with Boston Legacy FC to bring their live matches to audiences across New England as they celebrate their inaugural season in the league,” said Chris Wayland, the president and general manager of NBCU Local Boston. “The NWSL delivers a great product for fans and its fast-growing fan base is passionate and dedicated. Boston Legacy FC aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering compelling live content and supporting the teams and athletes that represent our city.”
The Legacy are winless through the first three games of their inaugural season and will host second-place San Diego (3-1-0) Friday at Gillette Stadium (7 p.m.).
