"He goes into that category of a group of guys that can really impact winning," Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said.

Svi Mykhailiuk received his 2024 championship ring from the Celtics Monday night, almost nine months after the Celtics clinched Game 5 against the Mavericks last June.

The 6-foot-7 205-pound guard is now with the Jazz, and the Celtics made sure he got his ring while Utah was in town.

The Celtics gathered on the half-court logo to celebrate the occasion. There were plenty of smiles all around.

Jrue Holiday was hopping up and down with excitement. Al Horford clapped. Jayson Tatum, who missed the game with right knee tendinopathy, made an appearance in his street clothes.

Monday night was the first of two meetings between the Celtics and Jazz this season. Boston will hit the road to face Utah on March 21.

Mykhailiuk played in 41 games for the Celtics last season with two starts, averaging 10.1 minutes and 4.0 points per game.

“He goes into that category of a group of guys that can really impact winning,” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said.” On nights when you don’t have your guys, his ability to step in — he won games for us.”

“Svi was great. He goes into that category of the group of guys that really impact winning. His ability to step in for us, he won games for us.”

Mykhailiuk minutes (19.8 per game) have almost doubled with Utah this season. His scoring output has jumped from 4.0 to 9.4 points per game. He has started 12 of his 26 games this season, though he began Monday’s contest on the bench.

“I would say different, coming from being one of the youngest on the team last year to being one of the oldest on the team in a one-year span,” Mykhailiuk said of his role, according to MassLive. “So I’d say it’s a little bit different, but it’s very exciting. Obviously, I get to play with the young guys, teach them, give them my experience, what it’s been like, and what we have to do to get better and reach our full potential.”
