Celtics boys and men in the TD Garden: Tatum and son ‘floss’ in streetwear, Horford and son keep it simple with team gear

Duels and duos dominated Celtics basketball on Sunday with matching father-and-son pairings, jacket-and-pant sets, and a key on-court matchup.

“I like the matching thing,” NBC Sports Boston Celtics sideline reporter Abby Chin said to Jrue Holiday during a pregame interview, referencing his outfit with ‘all the patches,’ as she put it. Holiday said he couldn’t tell her anything about it — he just liked how it looked.

Holiday may not have remembered the designer’s name, but you can find it here.

That was the Cambridge Patch Jacket from BODE, “inspired by classic workwear from the 1950s-1960s,” according to the brand website, which Holiday wore for the “Ford Fit” posted before the Celtics posted a 105-107 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.

What else were the men wearing today at the Garden?

At TD Garden, that is, not this garden — although a line from Kendrick Lamar’s “Man at the Garden” (featured on his latest studio album) aligns with what we saw from the tunnel fashion: Father-son attire where the dad’s dress contrasted with and elevated the clothing of their kin and heirs.

“Made my son take it further than his father. Yeah, he deserves it all,” Lamar rapped.

For one father-son outfit, “Big Deuce and Little Deuce dressed in their Sunday best,” play-by-play announcer Drew Carter remarked at the start of the game.

Jayson Tatum wore another statement jacket — this time, a creamy cashmere jacket from the Stone Island “Ghost” collection, “a subtle nod to heritage based on the concept of camouflage,” per the brand description.

Deuce Tatum, with dad’s nearly unidentifiable neutral as his personal backdrop, popped with a Billionaire Boys Club & ICECREAM matching hoodie-and-pant set, his usual two-piece silhouette. Apparently unavailable from the brand website (luxury-meets-streetwear founded by Pharrell Williams), a version is available on a website called “Pure Atlanta.”

Speaking of Atlanta, Jaylen Brown performed well against the highly anticipated matchup with the other Georgia Peach on the court, Anthony Edwards. Brown — who set the tone early and upfront with five three-point shots in the opening minutes of the game and sealed the deal; with the final three — kept it simple in his usual black.

And speaking of simplicity, in another “a boy and his dad” appearance, Al Horford and son, Ean, opted for a more straightforward appearance. Horford, the veteran player, frequently sports classic Celtics insignia and was seen in a gray “Boston Celtics Basketball” tracksuit. Ean, taking a trendier approach than dad, wore a cream-colored hoodie-and-sweats.

Between sons and fathers, Edwards and Brown, and duels and duos, Sunday night belonged to the Celtics, who will have played a duo of games at the Garden with Monday’s matchup against the Clippers following Sunday’s win.
