Jaylen Brown to star in second season of Netflix’s “Starting 5” series
Jaylen Brown and the 2024-25 Celtics will be featured in the second season of the Netflix docuseries.
Jayson Tatum and the Celtics’ run to an NBA title in 2023-24 was featured in the first season of Netflix’s behind-the-scenes basketball docuseries, “Starting 5.”
Now another Celtics star is set to be under the spotlight for season two of the series.
Netflix announced Tuesday that the second season of “Starting 5” is already underway, with Jaylen Brown set to be one of the five stars showcased in the series.
Along with Brown, the other stars set to be featured in the second season of “Starting 5” are Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), James Harden (Los Angeles Clippers), and Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers).

There should be no shortage of storylines for Netflix to cover during Brown’s 2024-25 campaign.
Beyond the wing’s standing as a reigning NBA champion and 2024 NBA Finals MVP, Brown should have plenty of motivation entering a new season, including getting snubbed by Team USA during the 2024 Olympics and his war of words with Nike.
Add in the creation of his new shoe brand and his sizable role in Boston’s hopes of repeating as champions, and Brown’s 2024-25 season should be filled with plenty of highlights for Netflix’s cameras to capture.

Brown has started off strong this season for the 4-0 Celtics, averaging 26 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game out of the gate.
Speaking earlier this month, Tatum acknowledged that he was initially offered a featured role in Season 2 of “Starting 5”, but wanted to share the spotlight with other Season 1 stars, including LeBron James and Anthony Edwards.
“I remember I watched ‘Quarterback,’” Tatum said at the Auerbach Center on Oct. 11. “When they came to me with the idea, at the time they said LeBron was in it and honestly he was like, ‘Yo, you could wait until Season 2, and obviously you could maybe be the star of Season 2.’
“I was like, ‘No, I want to be a part of the first one.’ And I was like, ‘I think we’re gonna win a championship.’ And we did.”
Time will tell if Brown and the Celtics will once again hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy at the end of “Starting 5”’s latest installment.
