Celtics owner Wyc Grousebeck didn’t tip his hand on Tuesday morning when asked to divulge details about Boston’s latest round of championship rings.
“The rings are in the safe in the office, and basically nobody has seen them,” Grousebeck said on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show.” “But they are massive. I will say — that would be the word, and we’ll go from there.”
Grousebeck wasn’t lying.
The Celtics finally unveiled their new hardware on Tuesday night as part of Boston’s championship ceremony — with Boston’s 2024 title immortalized in an impressive assortment of diamonds and other intricate details.

Boston’s 2024 championship rings — created in collaboration with Jason of Beverly Hills — feature 18 emerald cut diamonds on the outer bezel that represent the 18 franchise championships.
The 84 points of diamonds on the side bezel also represent the Celtics’ playoff winning percentage during their title run in 2024. The inner bezel includes 16 emerald-cut diamonds representing Boston’s total playoff wins for 2024.
The 2024 playoff series results are also listed on the inside of the shank of the ring.

Speaking earlier on WEEI, Grousbeck acknowledged that only a small group of Boston’s top personnel played a part in designing the rings.
“Really, the players didn’t want to have any input,” Grousbeck noted. “They wanted to be completely surprised tonight, and they are going to be completely surprised. They have not seen the ring.”

Based on the shocked reaction from several Celtics lineup regulars, it looks as though Grousbeck was telling the truth.
Celtics fans looking to snag their own piece of franchise history can also enter into a sweepstakes for a championship ring.
The Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation (BCSF) is offering up a raffle to enter a raffle for a chance to win a customized edition of the 2024 Championship Ring.
Proceeds benefit BCSF’s efforts to “unite, empower, and uplift communities in need,” per the team’s release. Official rules regarding the raffle can be found at celtics.com/ringraffle.
