MFA playfully responds to Jaylen Brown’s ‘Hang it in the Louvre’ comments
"Hey @FCHWPO and @celtics—the Louvre?? C'mon!"
Jayson Tatum’s no-look, around-the-back pass to Al Horford for a crucial 3-point shot in the fourth quarter of Game 3 last series was so beautiful that it could be considered a work of art according to Jaylen Brown.
“Hang it in the (expletive) Louvre,” Brown told reporters after the game.
Well, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston didn’t exactly appreciate being overlooked. The museum’s Twitter account tagged Brown and the Celtics in a social media post that jokingly took Brown to task for forgetting about them.
“Hey @FCHWPO and @celtics—the Louvre?? C’mon! We have plenty of space! Your next masterpiece belongs right here in Boston 😎”
Brown is at least somewhat familiar with the MFA, having participated in a panel discussion called “The City Talks: Leading From Anywhere” in 2022.
At the event, Brown talked about using his platform to advocate for change, how he feels about being a part of the Boston community, and developing the courage to be his authentic self, among other topics.
Brown and the Celtics made the NBA Finals in 2022 when they lost to Golden State in six games.
They have since returned to the big stage this year after defeating the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Brown was named MVP of the series.
Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals is set to tip off next Thursday at TD Garden against either Dallas or Minnesota.
