Heat guard Jaime Jaquez Jr. will miss Game 5 of the Miami’s opening-round series against the Celtics with a right hip flexor strain, the team announced.

Jaquez told reporters after Game 4 that he “felt something give in the hip,” early in the third quarter. He said he tried to play through the injury, but wound up playing just 22 minutes which was his lowest total of the series.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound rookie has started every game of this series. Game 4 dragged his minutes per game average down to 30.5, which is fourth on the team.

Jaquez is averaging 12.8 points per game on 40.4 percent shooting from the field, along with 3.3 rebounds and 3 assists.

Miami was already shorthanded with Jimmy Butler out with an MCL strain. Former Celtic Terry Rozier, who has yet to play in the series, will also be out for Game 5.

The Celtics have not released their injury report at the time of this posting. Center Kristaps Porzingis is scheduled for imaging after he left Game 4 with what is believed to be a calf strain.

Boston has a 3-1 lead in the series, and could advance to the next round with a win Wednesday night at TD Garden.
