Kornet Karaoke, anyone?

Luke Kornet stole the show as NBC Sports Boston’s mic’d up player of the game during Wednesday’s 136-86 smackdown versus the Nets. While the entire video is worth a watch (or three), here are Kornet’s most memorable moments of the night.

Serenading Derrick White

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s day than by serenading someone special in your life?

Kornet laid down a harmony for teammate Derrick White on the sideline and luckily NBC Sports Boston recorded all eight glorious seconds of it.

Hearing Kornet belt Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)’ was the Valentine’s Day gift that nobody knew they needed.

The song wasn’t his only impressive performance, however. The center put up eight points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.

Proving that he’s the king of sarcasm

Without ever breaking a straight face, Kornet kept the sarcastic comments flowing all night.

Holding the Nets to just 15 points in the first quarter, he turned to Neemias Queta on the bench and made a joke about the Celtics’ strong defense.

“I don’t know if you’re a stats buff, Neemy, but a 15-point quarter would be a good defensive quarter,” Kornet said. “Historically speaking.”

Having the most enthusiastic on-court celebrations

Kornet’s banter continued on the court, when he grabbed a steal and passed it to Oshae Brissett on a fast-break.

“Ooo, Brissy,” he yelled, before tipping Brissett’s layup in for an easy two. In an enthusiastic – and breathless – celebration, Kornet appears to be an endless well of energy.

This reaction isn’t uncharacteristic for Kornet, who’s gone viral in the past for his celebrations on and off the court. See: ‘ice in my veins’ moment from January.

When he talked about his accomplished NBA 2K11 career

Answering Oshae Brissett’s question about whether he ever plays 2K, Kornet revealed that he used to play a lot in high school.

“2K11, Luke Kornet small forward – a lot of championships brought to that city,” he said.

Brissett laughs, but Kornet doesn’t crack a smile. Classic king of sarcasm.

The release of the mic’d up video reminded many Celtics fans why Kornet’s role on the team is so vital, despite some lackluster performances in recent games.

“Can tell he keeps the locker room light,” one fan wrote on X. Another commented that Kornet “has to be the best locker room guy in the league, he just fits in.”
