Dallas acquires J.J. Redick for James Johnson, more
Sources: Dallas sent James Johnson, Wes Iwundu and a second-round pick to New Orleans to acquire JJ Redick and Nicolo Melli.
Mavericks acquiring two shooters to bolster their depth. Pelicans receive a gritty veteran forward in Johnson, young player and draft asset. https://t.co/WaVX3BKh6T
— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) March 25, 2021
The Mavericks picked up a pair of shooters in Redick and Melli, while New Orleans cleared some space and added a small amount of draft capital.
Kings acquire Terence Davis for a 2nd-round pick
Toronto is trading guard Terrence Davis to Sacramento for a future second round pick, source tells ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 25, 2021
Davis gives the Kings some more guard and wing depth and a look at a prospect for the future. The Raptors cleared more space.
Jazz acquire Matt Thomas for a 2nd-round pick
Toronto is trading guard Matt Thomas to the Utah Jazz for a future second-round pick, source tells ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 25, 2021
Thomas gives the Jazz some bench shooting and a (nearly) free look at a player Toronto was looking to offload.
Clippers acquire Rajon Rondo for Lou Williams, 2nd-round picks
Clippers are finalizing a deal to acquire Rajon Rondo from Atlanta for Lou Williams, two second-round picks and cash, sources tell me and @sam_amick.
— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) March 25, 2021
The Clippers send out a proven scorer and bring in a proven playoff player in Rondo. Williams goes home to Atlanta and bolsters the Hawks’ bench.
Portland acquires Norm Powell for Gary Trent Jr.
Toronto has traded Norm Powell to Portland for Gary Trent and Rodney Hood, sources tell ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 25, 2021
The Blazers pick up a proven scorer in Powell, who has big-game experience. He could prove to be a nice supporting piece around Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. The Raptors might be on the brink of a teardown.
Heat acquire Nmenja Bjelica from Sacramento
Sacramento is finalizing a deal to send Nemanja Bjelica to the Miami. Heat, sources tell ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 25, 2021
Miami adds to its floor spacing by picking up a sweet shooting forward in Bjelica. He’s having a down year, especially from 3, but could be a nice addition for the Heat.
Nuggets acquire Aaron Gordon for Gary Harris, R.J. Hampton, pick
Gary Harris, RJ Hampton and a first-round pick to the Magic for Aaron Gordon, source tells ESPN. https://t.co/VWMUVCokeS
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 25, 2021
The Nuggets were Boston’s reported rival in Gordon talks, and they ultimately offered a package the Celtics were seemingly unwilling to match. The Magic got a young prospect in Hampton who was considered near-lottery talent in last year’s draft, as well as a first-round pick. Harris has had a down year but offers potential at shooting guard.
Denver, meanwhile, brings in a forward to replace Jerami Grant, who departed for Detroit during the offseason.
The Celtics’ reported offer was a first-round pick and one of their young wings. It’s unclear whether a second first-round pick was on the table, but Denver’s package suggests the Celtics weren’t going to budge.
Chicago acquires Troy Brown for Daniel Gafford
Washington is trading Troy Brown and Mo Wagner to Chicago for Daniel Gafford and Chandler Hutchinson, sources tell ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 25, 2021
The Bulls and Wizards shuffle around a few players. The Wizards get an interesting back-up big in Gafford, while Chicago adds Brown to its wing depth.
Celtics acquire Evan Fournier for two first-round picks
The Celtics are indeed close to finalizing a deal that would bring them Evan Fournier. Boston is expected to use its Hayward trade exception, and as of now it is not part of a bigger deal and Boston is not close to acquiring Aaron Gordon. More: https://t.co/xF9OlPLACg
— Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) March 25, 2021
The Celtics picked up a big scoring upgrade, acquiring Fournier who averaged nearly 20 points per game for Orlando. Fournier fits into the traded player exception created by Gordon Hayward’s sign-and-trade this offseason. He will be a free agent this summer.
Bulls acquire Nikola Vucevic for Wendell Carter Jr.
Bulls are sending Wendell Carter Jr. and two first-round picks to the Magic, per sources. https://t.co/MNvJ8GmfeL
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 25, 2021
The Bulls picked up an All-Star to play next to Zach LaVine. The Magic began their teardown in earnest.
Cavaliers deal JaVale McGee to Denver Nuggets
Denver is acquiring center Cleveland center JaVale McGee for Isaiah Hartenstein and two future protected second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 25, 2021
The Cavaliers took on McGee this summer and ultimately moved him for a small amount of draft capital. Denver, meanwhile, re-acquired a familiar face with length and a ton of athleticism.
