‘Don’t talk to me about Kemba’: Terry Rozier said he does not want to be compared to Kemba Walker
"I’m not coming in here acting like I’m Kemba. I’m Terry."
Terry Rozier is ready to make a name for himself in Charlotte.
“I’m pissed off about a lot of stuff,” he said. “I want to prove myself again.”
Rozier spoke to the Charlotte Observer about how he wants to establish himself on his new team, as well as his feelings about being compared to Celtics point guard Kemba Walker. Rozier dealt with frustrations last season while playing backup to Kyrie Irving and voiced opinions about his playing time on ESPN’s First Take. He admitted that he “might have to” leave the Celtics after their rough season, and he did- thanks to a three-year, $57 million deal with the Hornets.
With a new opportunity ahead of him, Rozier said that he’s ready to become the leader that Hornets need him to be. Still, he wants to make it clear that he’s not their former point guard, Walker.

“I’m not Kemba [Walker],” said Rozier. “I’m not coming in here acting like I’m Kemba. I’m Terry.”
Walker played eight seasons with the Hornets. Rozier said he respects Walker, but he’s tired of hearing about him.
“I respect the hell out of Kemba. When I play against him, I’m going to give him my best, and I know I’ll get his best. But Kemba? I don’t want to hear it. Don’t talk to me about Kemba.”
