5 Celtics are on Sports Illustrated’s Top 100 NBA players list
Which Celtics players are featured on this year's list?
Sports Illustrated released its Top 100 players for the 2020 NBA season, and the list features a heavy diet of Boston Celtics players. Marcus Smart (82), Jaylen Brown (68), Gordon Hayward (59), Jayson Tatum (35), and Kemba Walker (20) are all featured in the top 100. This is down from last year’s list, which featured Brown (47), Hayward (25), and Tatum (39), as well as former Celtics Kyrie Irving (17), Al Horford (16), and Terry Rozier (82).
No. 1 on the list is Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, followed by Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, Steph Curry, and James Harden. Celtics rival Joel Embiid is listed 7th.
Smart, Brown, Tatum, and Walker spent the summer representing Team USA in the FIBA World Cup. With Team USA losing back-to-back games to France and Serbia, it’s their worst finish in the FIBA World Cup ever.
The Celtics begin training camp for the 2019-20 season at the end of the month, with players being able to report on September 30.
