Donnie Wahlberg loved the MVP chants for Kyrie Irving at the Barclays Center
The crowd at the Celtics-Nets game was shouting “MVP” on Tuesday night, but their chants weren’t for a player on the home team. Fans were fired up for the return of masked Kyrie Irving and his subsequent 25-point performance in New York.
Among the noise? Donnie Wahlberg was digging it, too.
The Dorchester native shared a video of Irving shooting a free throw, while fans chanted, “MVP! MVP! MVP!” He even turned the camera around to say, “In Brooklyn!”

The New Kids on the Block founder, who wore a Wahlburger’s hat to the game, also tweeted a photo with Jaylen Brown after the game. He called Brown a “great player and great guy.”
