Brian Scalabrine got skunked in a chair shooting contest against Gordon Hayward
"I thought you'd be good at this; you're used to sitting on the bench."
We warned you, Scal.
Gordon Hayward is a pretty good shot, even from sitting in a chair.
Nevertheless, Brian Scalabrine took on the injured Celtics forward in a first-to-10 chair shooting contest at the Celtics practice facility.
It did not go well for Scalabrine. In fact, the game never even made it to 10. The former Celtics bench player-turned-TV commentator got shut out by Hayward, who missed only one shot, and the game ended early via the “skunk rule.”
“I thought you’d be good at this; you’re used to sitting on the bench,” Hayward teased.
In fairness, the 6-foot-9 Scalabrine did have the disadvantage of shooting from a relatively smaller chair (which he made sure was known).
The full video of their competition can be viewed on NBC Sports Boston’s website. The network also tweeted a 45-second preview clip.
