Isaiah Thomas says Gordon Hayward due for a ‘major comeback’
"Woke up this morning praying hard for my guy Gordon Hayward."
Though he ultimately didn’t get a chance to play on the same team as Gordon Hayward, Isaiah Thomas still has a connection with one of the new Celtics. And while Hayward’s debut was marred by a fractured ankle, he received support from Thomas.
Thomas, who is still recovering from an injury of his own, asserted that Hayward suffered a “minor setback” and will see a “major comeback”:

Hayward chose Boston over the summer prior to the groundbreaking Kyrie Irving-Isaiah Thomas trade. In his goodbye to Utah, Hayward explained that part of his decision to choose Boston in free agency was down to a “talented roster,” singling out Thomas as one of the reasons.
Thomas also reportedly visited Hayward in the locker room following the first quarter injury:
