NBA players show support for Gordon Hayward after gruesome injury
After Celtics forward Gordon Hayward fractured his left ankle during the first quarter of Boston’s season opener, sympathetic messages from active and retired NBA players flooded Twitter.
Among those to express their support were Paul Pierce, Bill Russell, Hayward’s former Utah Jazz teammates, and Paul George, who suffered a horrific leg injury in 2014.
