Tensions were expected to be high for NBA tip-off game between the Cavaliers and the Celtics, but LeBron James put all that aside when Gordon Hayward went down with an injury in the first quarter.

As Hayward was being wheeled off the court via stretcher, James offered his opponent a firm handshake as a gesture of support.

Once the quarter came to an end, James also went to the Cavaliers’ locker room to visit the injured Hayward.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to Gordon and his family,” James said after the Cavaliers’ 102-99 win. ” I hope for a speedy recovery and a healthy recovery.”
