Wear green to the PawSox game tonight and get a free ticket—because Kyrie Irving

But fans named LeBron, Draymond, Steph, Lonzo, or Kevin will be charged double.

Basketball fans are the only ones celebrating the Celtics’ acquisition of Kyrie Irving.

The Pawtucket Red Sox, Boston’s Triple-A affiliate, announced that Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Bisons — a team which once held a “Keep Brady Suspended Night” — will be “Kyrie Irving Night,” in which anyone wearing the color green or any Celtics gear will get a free general admission ticket.

According to the team website, general admission tickets (which are otherwise $11) are good for any available blue section seat, the outfield bleachers, or the grassy berm in left field. The tickets must be picked up from the box office at McCoy Stadium.

In honor of Irving’s new number, the PawSox will also give away a prize pack of 11 free 2018 flex tickets, 11 hot dogs, 11 free caps from the team store, and 11 baseballs autographed by various players to the one lucky fan who finds a green shamrock in their seat. Additionally, other promotions and giveaways will have a “Celtics flair,” according to the team.

But as much as the night will be about celebrating Irving’s arrival, it will also poke fun at the Celtics’ NBA peers.

According to the team press release Wednesday, “any fan by the name LeBron, Draymond, Steph, Lonzo, or Kevin (Love or Durant) will be charged double the price of admission.”

PawSox spokesman Joe Bradlee admits the double-priced ticket policy may be difficult to enforce, especially given the number of tickets that have already been given out.

“However, fans who purchase tickets at the box office tonight and present identification with any of those names will certainly be given a hard time!” Bradlee said in an email, adding that the team isn’t expecting many.

If it’s any consolation to the Kevins hoping to attend, there will also be a Cleveland Cavaliers fan wearing a LeBron James jersey sitting in a dunk tank for an hour outside the stadium before the game’s 7:05 p.m. start time.
