NBA observers are raving about Jayson Tatum’s early Summer League performance
Though the Celtics lost their second Summer League contest to the Spurs Wednesday night, the team’s first-round draft pick Jayson Tatum continued to dazzle after scoring the game-winner against the 76ers just two days prior.
Tatum tallied a double-double, notching 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. In the second quarter, the 19-year-old connected for a sweet put-back dunk off of Abdel Nader’s missed three-point attempt.

Summer Celtics have given up a ton of second-chance points, but let’s concentrate on what’s important: Jayson Tatum looks outstanding.

Summer League is great for seeing if a player has improved since the end of their college season: Jayson Tatum has gotten A LOT better.

Basically either Tatum has the ball or this game is full Summer League

And the Celtics Summer League coach Jerome Allen also had nothing but high praise for the incoming rookie.
“He’s physical, he competes, he rebounds, he puts it on the floor, he passes, he scores from the post, midrange and long-ball,” Allen told reporters after the game. “You’d be hard-pressed to find another 19-year-old in this country that just has the demeanor that he has.”
