Morning sports update: Gordon Hayward’s decision reportedly could come as early as Monday night

The Celtics await Gordon Hayward’s decision, while the Red Sox look to carry the momentum from their Blue Jays’ sweep into their series against the Rangers.

Celtics hope Gordon Hayward takes their best pitch: There are reports Hayward plans to make his decision known by tomorrow or Wednesday, but a source close to the player said he could let teams know his decision as early as tonight. (Boston Herald)

Gordon Hayward visited Boston, went to Fenway, and met Isaiah Thomas: ESPN reports the pitch to Hayward included a stop at Fenway Park, where the Jumbotron displayed a welcome greeting, and a three-minute video emphasized “the experience of playing in Boston.” (ESPN)
